九州大学、神戸大学、奈良県立医科大学、浜松医科大学との共同研究成果が、このたびプレスリリースされました。本研究では、自閉スペクトラム症モデルマウスの脳内において、γδT細胞と呼ばれる特殊なTリンパ球が増加し、社会行動異常の発現に関与することを明らかにしました。熊本大学大学院生命科学研究部神経精神医学講座では、自閉スペクトラム症や統合失調症をはじめとする精神疾患の免疫病理の解明を重点研究領域の一つと位置づけ、基礎研究と臨床研究を有機的に融合した橋渡し研究を推進しています。免疫学、神経科学、精神医学を融合した学際的研究を通じて、精神疾患の新たな病態理解と革新的な診断・治療法の創出を目指しています。

A collaborative research project involving Kyushu University, Kobe University, Nara Medical University, Hamamatsu University School of Medicine, and Kumamoto University has recently been featured in a press release.
In this study, we demonstrated that γδ T cells, a specialized subset of T lymphocytes, are increased in the brains of a mouse model of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and contribute to the development of social behavioral abnormalities.
At the Department of Neuropsychiatry, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kumamoto University, elucidating the immunopathology of psychiatric disorders, including autism spectrum disorder and schizophrenia, is one of our major research priorities. We are actively promoting translational research that integrates basic and clinical sciences to bridge discoveries from the laboratory to clinical practice.
Through interdisciplinary research combining immunology, neuroscience, and psychiatry, we aim to advance our understanding of the pathophysiology of psychiatric disorders and facilitate the development of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

自閉スペクトラム症に関わる脳内免疫細胞を発見ASDモデルマウスでγδT細胞が脳に集まり、社会性行動の異常に関わることを解明 | 熊本大学

当科奥村武則センター長（基幹型認知症疾患医療センター）の論文がPsychogeriatrics誌に掲載されました。本研究では、認知症サポートチーム（DST）の支援を受けた高齢入院患者を対象に、過去のDST介入歴と再入院時の臨床経過との関連を検討しました。その結果、過去にDST支援を受けた患者では再入院時の在院日数が短い傾向を認めました。また、血清アルブミン値、身体拘束の有無、独居の状況も在院日数と関連していました。さらに、傾向スコアマッチングによる背景因子の調整後も、DST支援歴のある患者では在院日数が有意に短いことが示されました。これらの結果から、認知症高齢者に対するDSTによる多職種支援は、入院中のケアのみならず、その後の入院経過にも好影響を及ぼす可能性が示唆されました。本研究は、高齢者医療における多職種連携の重要性を支持する知見であり、今後の医療・介護連携体制のさらなる充実に寄与することが期待されます。

A paper authored by Dr. Takenori Okumura, Director of the Core Dementia Medical Center at the Department of Neuropsychiatry, Kumamoto University, has been accepted for publication in *Psychogeriatrics*.
This study investigated the association between previous interventions by the Dementia Support Team (DST) and clinical outcomes during subsequent hospitalizations among older inpatients with dementia who had received DST support. The findings demonstrated that patients with a history of DST intervention tended to have shorter lengths of hospital stay upon readmission. In addition, serum albumin levels, the use of physical restraints, and living alone were identified as factors associated with the length of hospitalization.
Furthermore, after adjustment for baseline characteristics using propensity score matching, a history of DST intervention remained significantly associated with a shorter hospital stay during readmission.
These findings suggest that multidisciplinary support provided by the DST for older adults with dementia may have beneficial effects not only on inpatient care but also on the clinical course of subsequent hospitalizations. This study provides further evidence supporting the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in geriatric dementia care and is expected to contribute to the continued development of integrated medical and long-term care systems for people living with dementia.
